Skills for life and work (Tuesdays 1.30-2.30pm)

Confidence, 03.11.2020 NB: this is an evening session 8-9pm

Many people struggle with self-confidence. We’ll share some ideas of how you can build your confidence.         

 

Healthy mind and body, 10/11/2020

Tutor Julie will share ideas for how we can have a healthy lifestyle – from healthy eating and exercising on a budget to simple techniques to keep our mind healthy.

 

Thinking positively, 17/11/2020

This session will look at positive thinking techniques and changing our perspective.

 

Safeguarding, 24/11/2020

This session will explain what Safeguarding means and the responsibilities staff and organisations have. Suitable as a refresher or for those who are new to the subject.

 

 

Skills for getting into work, Thursdays 11am-12noon

CV skills, 05/11/2020

Covering what to include on a good CV and how to highlight your skills and experience.

 

Completing job applications, 12/11/2020

Interview skills, 19/11/2020

This session will look at preparing for an interview, describing your skills and giving great responses at interview.

 

Answering difficult interview questions, 26/11/2020

Covering those trickier questions and how to respond to show an employer what you can offer.

 

 

How does it work?

You will need a device that connects to the internet e.g. smartphone. We’re using Webex which is free to use. When you sign up for a session you will be sent information and guidance about how to use it.
