Local people make West Vale community engagement event a success

29/09/2021

Having a say on the look and feel of new homes at West Vale, learning about the community projects linked to the development, having an input into regeneration plans for the local neighbourhood and making wildflower seed bombs. These are among the things that were on offer at our West Vale community engagement event held at West Street today (Wednesday 29 September).

We invited people from the West Street and Vale Drive neighbourhood and wider Oldham borough to come along to the session, have their say and get involved in the next steps of our West Vale project.

The changeable weather didn’t put local people off from coming along and giving feedback on a range of matters including regeneration plans for the surrounding area, choice of materials to be used in the new build properties, sustainability and more. All ideas and contributions were captured by our friends from Imagineer and we’ll be sharing the feedback soon.

Daniel Isherwood, our Project and Partnerships Officer said: “Community is at the heart of our West Vale project and it was great to get conversations going with people about a wide range of topics, from parking and green spaces to recreational facilities and community projects. This will all feed into our plans – thanks to everyone who attended.”

If you couldn’t make it to the session but would like to share your views, we’d love to hear from you. Email us
