More affordable new homes handed over in Middleton

Great news! Today we’ve taken handover of more affordable new homes at our Boothroyden Road development in Middleton.

We are working with Elan Homes to deliver 15 two-bedroom, 11 three-bedroom, and four four-bedroom family houses at the £7.7m mixed tenure scheme.

Phased handovers of the properties began in March this year and will continue until the project’s completion in spring 2023.

At the build there are nine three-bedroom and four four-bedroom family houses for shared ownership under our Fabric Living brand, helping local people to get a foot on the housing ladder at an affordable price.
 
Nine three-bedroom, seven two-bedroom and one four-bedroom house at the site are for affordable rent – set at no more than 80% of the average local market rent.

Our Director of Development, Joel Owen, said: “It’s great to see more new affordable homes here at Boothroyden Road ready for customers to move into and they put us another step closer to reaching our target of delivering 700 new, high quality, energy efficient properties in Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside, Kirklees and Calderdale between now and 2026.

“Demand for affordable housing in the area outstrips supply and high house prices and lack of affordable options mean many local buyers struggle to make their first step on to the housing ladder.

“By offering a mix of homes for affordable rent and shared ownership we want to help meet housing need and help make home ownership possible for more people, and I wish the new residents all the best in their new homes.”

45 more new homes due for completion by the end of 2022

Between now and the end of 2022 we are on track to complete a further 45 new homes across four developments, all for affordable rent.

These include 36 family homes in Oldham, comprising twenty-four three-bedroom family houses at our Tanners Fold project in Fitton Hill and 12 two and three-bedroom houses at our Cherry Ave site in Alt.

Down the road in Rochdale, two two and three-bedroom houses at our Boothroyden Road scheme in Middleton are due for completion, along with four four-bedroom houses at our Spindles development in Heywood.
