This week we’ve launched a new initiative to encourage customers who need a hand to manage the cost-of-living to reach out for free, confidential support from our specialist teams.

As prices go up, you might be worried about how you’re going to cope. Don’t worry, we’re here for you. We can also signpost you to other local organisations to make sure you get all the support you need.

Our trained colleagues are on hand to help you maximise your income through access to The Bread and Butter Thing affordable food service, advice to reduce debt, checks on benefit entitlement and further tailored help if you need it.

Support is available to help you to pay your rent and charges, and find your next job opportunity or moving your career forward if you’re in employment.

Teams can provide advice on ways to save energy and keep bills down too, and signpost you to other partner organisations to make sure you get all the help you need.

We have also joined forces with Oldham Council to create even more Warm Spaces across the borough. In addition to Oldham Council’s Warm Banks, we run five welcoming Warm Spaces at community centres across Oldham where people can keep warm for free.

Our ‘Need a hand?’ campaign will be promoted on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, and through leaflets, posters and local advertising, to help get the message out to those in need.

“We’ve seen increased demand for our services in the past six months and we want to do all we can to support our customers as the cost-of-living crisis continues. We’re here to give them a hand if they are facing financial worries and we encourage those who need advice or practical support to get in touch, so we can help.”
