Sign up to pay your council tax by Direct Debit and get your energy rebate quicker

The Government has announced a £150 one-off payment to help with energy costs for people who live in homes in council tax bands A-D.

The quickest way to receive your rebate is to sign up to pay your council tax by Direct Debit, so your £150 is automatically paid into your bank account.

If you’re eligible for the payment and don’t pay your council tax by Direct Debit, you will still receive the rebate, only it may take longer to come through. This is because the council must contact everyone affected with details of how to claim their payment.
