About our community litter picks

We encourage you to bring your own equipment if you have it, but it's not a problem if you don't have any. Just give your Neighbourhood Coordinator a call or email and they can arrange for some equipment for you.

This is an outdoor activity so please dress for the weather and task.

Ways we're tackling litter and waste in neighbourhoods

We know that most people take pride in where they live, but unfortunately a minority don’t and rubbish and fly tipping are persistent issues in a number of our neighbourhoods.

We know the negative impact this has on people and their area, that’s why we've launched a new three-year strategy to help make neighbourhoods cleaner, greener, great places to live and support Oldham Council's Don't Trash Oldham campaign.

On a rolling programme between now and March 2025 we are targeting areas where litter and fly-tipping are causes for concern and arranging community litter picks, waste collection days, customer engagement activities to promote good recycling habits and improving bin facilities at communal blocks of flats.

Following this work, we will be asking customers to do their bit to keep their area looking good.
