Warm Spaces open across Oldham to help residents through the winter

07/11/2022

We know that the cost-of-living crisis, and the rising costs of energy and bills means it’s harder to keep your homes toasty and warm during the winter, but don’t worry – we’re here to help you!

As well as Oldham Council’s Warm Banks which are open across the borough, we’ve partnered with Oldham Council and the voluntary sector to bring some additional Warm Spaces to our communities across the borough. From March 2023 these are located at:

  • Alt Community Centre, 50 Cherry Avenue, OL8 2HS,
    Mondays 1-3pm
    Tuesdays 9am-2pm
    Thursdays 9am-2pm

  • Nelson Way Community Centre, Chadderton, OL9 8NL,
    Mondays 10am-4pm
    Wednesdays 10am-4pm
    Thursdays 10am-3pm
    Fridays 10am-2pm

  • NEON Community Centre, Holt St, Oldham, OL4 2DQ,
    Mondays 9.30am-4.30pm
    Tuesdays 9.30am-4.30pm
    Thursdays 9am-2pm
    Fridays 10am-12noon

What’s a Warm Space?

Warm Spaces are friendly places where you can visit to keep you and your family warm at no cost. There’s no limit on how many times you can visit – just come along as often as you need for a hot drink, a friendly chat or to simply relax in a warm, safe space.

At our FCHO Warm Spaces – we will have some of our volunteers and staff on hand on ad-hoc basis too, so you’ll be able to receive free advice or be signposted to additional support if you need it.

All of our Warm Spaces are now listed on Oldham Council’s website Warm Banks | Oldham Council, where you can find opening days, times and the closest one to your home.

If you are struggling this winter and need extra support, please email us at communityimpact@fcho.co.uk and one of our advisors will be in touch to discuss any further help.
