You said, we did: jet washing programme at communal blocks begins

06/07/2022

Our Neighbourhood Care team is all about making your neighbourhoods great places to live, and they've started a programme to jet wash walkways at communal blocks of flats.

The work follows feedback from our Neighbourhoods Champions, who told us they would like to see us carry out deep cleans of these areas more often.

Over the next four months, our contractor Oldham-based PCS UK will be carrying out jet washing to outdoor landings and footpaths at blocks of flats in our town centre neighbourhoods Eldon St, Barker St and Anchor St, which have been identified as having the greatest need.

Just look at 'before and after' pictures taken at Stott House and Purdy House in the Eldon St area to see the difference the work makes.

From April 2023 we plan to carry out the deep cleans across all our deck access blocks annually.

David Wrigley, our Head of Neighbourhood Care says: "This is a good example of how our Neighbourhood Champions influence the work that our environmental and neighbourhood teams deliver. Their feedback helps us improve our services and make your areas even better places to live. The jet washing will help us deliver an enhanced cleaning to the blocks and improve our service to you and we’re pleased to be partnering with a local business to carry it out, too.”
