ROCA Small Grants
We fund community projects in our Oldham neighbourhoods and some areas of Rochdale. To understand where these areas are in Oldham, please visit our Neighbourhoods page.
We are interested in funding projects that relate to:
- Streets and spaces
- Natural space
- Play and recreation
- Social contact
- Identity and belonging
- Influence and sense of control
- Community skills and learning
- Poverty action
We may fund other types of projects and/or in other areas, however, please contact ROCA@fcho.co.uk before filling out an application.
What is the grant available for?
It could be for community research and engagement, for a community event, for equipment for a community project, to support the development of an improvement in a particular neighbourhood.
How much can I apply for and when?
Our ROCA Small Grants have a limit of £750 and we accept applications throughout the year until our funding is spent. You can apply for more than one ROCA grant as long as they are for a different projects.
Who can apply?
Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprises (VCFSEs). Your group or organisation must be constituted, have a bank account in its name and have adequate safeguarding and data protection policies in place. If this excludes you from applying, please contact ROCA@fcho.co.uk and we can see how we might support you another way.

When will I hear back?
Once you have applied, your application will be reviewed by our advisory group. We try to respond to your application within six weeks.
